Best way to care for an ingrown toenail?

What is the best way to treat an ingrown toenail?Best way to care for an ingrown toenail?
If it is severe, you need to see your doctor. In other cases, soaking it 3-4 times daily in warm water should help. You can take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain relief. Make sure you keep the foot dry and wear shoes with adequate room for the toes- if you have sandals, this would be best until it clears up. If there is no improvement in 2-3 days, or if the condition worsens, call your doctor.Best way to care for an ingrown toenail?
After you have tried to cut out the ingrown part as much as you can, soak your toe in some hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes. Do this every night before you go to bed.
YOU CAN TRY CUTTING IT OUT ON YOUR OWN OR ALL THE OTHER SUFF ABOUT SOAKING. THE INGROWN PART IS NOT AT THE END OF YOUR TOE THE PROBLEM IS AT THE BASE WHERE THE NAIL STARTS THAT IS WHY IT COMES BACK AFTER YOU CUT IT YOUR SELF. BUT MINE GOT SO BAD I WENT TO THE DOCTOR YES IT HURT AT FIRST WHEN HE INJECTED THE TOE HE HAD TO CUT BOTH SIDES (MY BIG TOE) ON MINE BUT AFTER IT DIDN'T HURT. I WHEN RIGHT BACK TO WORK AND HAD NO PROBLEMS FOR OVER A YEAR. DID HAVE TO GO BACK FOR ONE SIDE TO GET RECUT (DOCTOR SAID THAT SOMETHIMES THAT HAPPENS) BUT NOW IT HAS BEEN WELL OVER 2 YEARS AND ALL IS FINE . THE PAIN TO GET RID OF IT WAS NOTHING LIKE THE PAIN BEFORE. GOOD LUCK
Depending on how severe it is you might have to go to the doctor to get it removed but otherwise letting it soak in a water and trying to remove it yourself is a possibility.
Go to your family doc. He or she will take care of it. They inject a little lidocaine and cut out the ingrown toenail. You should feel relief immediately.
don't mess with it, trust me, just go to a podiatrist. he'll remove it for you quick and painless.
I think that you should go to the doctor if it is that bad, otherwise don't just leave it the way it is. Cut around it and get that toenail out of there, because it'll just keep growing and causing infection, which is a lot grosser.
i just get pedicures.
A lot of people have surgery, but they all say after the excruitiating pain, they come back and not to mention the couldn't walk for a week...

My mom always soaked my feet until the toenail got soft and then we would get the razor blade and cut them out. Mine are my baby toes.
