Does going to a regular doctor helps when you have an Ingrown Toenail infection?

I know the better choice is to see a Podiatrist but you've to make an appointment with one, and the wait would take about a week or more. And i don't have more time to waste cause i've missed out on 6 papers of my GCE examination papers.

So does seeing a regular doctor(which no appointment is needed) for Ingrown Toenail infection helps?

What are the chances that would happen?Does going to a regular doctor helps when you have an Ingrown Toenail infection?
It won't help because he will just send you to a Podiatrist.Does going to a regular doctor helps when you have an Ingrown Toenail infection?
Yes. Regular doctors are trained for almost everything. While yes, of course the better choice is a podiatrist who specializes in things of the feet, I do believe a regular doctor can help you. And of course it's better than nothing!
