How do you know if you have an ingrown toenail?

My toe is very sore, but you can see the top of the corner of my toenail. It hurts to even put pressure on itHow do you know if you have an ingrown toenail?
Don't cut the nail! The best way to prevent ingrown toenails is to let the nail grow out and cut it straight across. Otherwise you'll cut it back too far and as it grows out it will grow into your skin.

Try soaking the toe in warm water a couple times a day and consider buying new shoes. Most of the time if your shoes do not press on the outside of your toe you won't have trouble with ingrown nails. If you were wearing tight shoes recently, like dress shoes, give your feet some time in more comfortable shoes and it may improve in a couple days. If it doesn't you may need to see a doctor. How do you know if you have an ingrown toenail?
more than likely yes you have an ingrown nail, take a pair of clippers and lift up the corner of the nail where its digging in..it may hurt but clip the nail back away from the corner and cut the lil pieces of hard skin too should do the trick
