Sometimes you can't see it, but you can definitely feel it. Once you have it removed, the pain will subside. When you have your ingrown toenail removed when will the pain go away?
i had an ingrown toenail once and i got it removed - it did hurt alot haveigit done cause tre was never enugh anesthetic injected each time aughh. the memories. i couldnt see mine lik..it just sort of goes into your skin at he side of your toe and the crner its in goes all red and really hurts when its squeesed and stuff - when i had my operation watsit it did go away after a while i duno how long it just looked really weird and took a long time to heal - i had a giant bandage on it so i wasnt very mobile! :L and i had to wait til i got a small bandage on it til i could finally put on a trainer!
If you think you've got one - you prob have. Do not let your doctor give you antibiotics because its 'infected', make a stand and maintain it's causing you problems. Get to a podiatrist asap.

Both mine became ingrown because I was a right fatty when I was pregnant that I couldn't reach my feet! I had the sides of both big toes cut away - what a relief!! Only thing that hurts is the 2 injections they'll give you in your big toes (in each toe!) because there's 2 nerves running down your big toes so they need 2 injections to numb them. Boy is it worth it. You'll prob look like a clown from the bandages for a week or so but it's fine. It's better than having a chard of nail gradulally being pushed deeper into your flesh.

ALL my sympathy, I know how much that really hurts. xxx
yes i remove myself..i put ice on the sore bit let it go numb then i lift out the pointy piece of nail using a blunt needle or similar make sure it is sterile first the pain relief is instant
